歌曲的演唱者是 Tony Meléndez。
Tony Meléndez,1962 年出生，尼加拉瓜裔美国人，吉他演奏家，作曲家，歌手。因为母亲怀孕期间误食药物，他出生的时候就没有了双臂，但是坚毅的他还是学会了用双脚演奏吉他。
Tony Meléndez 在 1985 年开始了他的演奏生涯，在 1987 年 9 月 15 日，在为教皇 John Paul II 专门举办的一场演出中，他用双脚弹奏吉他，演唱了歌曲 Never Be the Same。教皇深受感动，从椅子上走了下来，深情拥抱了他，并对他说，"My wish for you is that you continue to give hope to others andcontinue in what you are doing"。
Tony Meléndez 现在与妻子 Lynn 居住在,Missouri 的 Branson, 并且组建了自己的乐队。从事演出活动的同时还积极的参与保护胎儿权力的活动。

从网上看见过 Tony Meléndez 的录像，可惜是西班牙语的，我只能更加专注于画面，从画面中寻找关于他的信息。
录像中的他，高高大大，头发有些凌乱，衣袖没了手臂的支撑更显得宽大，并且随着他的步伐晃来晃去，脚上穿一双很大的拖鞋，整个人看上去悠闲自在。旁边有人经过的时候，他会微笑点头。他的车子是特制的，在方向盘下有一个圆盘，他脚放上去转动圆盘就可以很方便的操作车子了。
简短的录像最后是他们一家人的镜头，他，妻子，还有孩子们。
看上去很普通的人，似乎以将自己的残疾给遗忘了。
大家听歌的时候可以仔细的听他吉他的伴奏。节奏比较慢，也没有太多华丽的技法，甚至吉他的声音都有些暗哑。
原因很简单：他将吉他放在了地上，有双脚弹奏出自己的心声。
