Italian police make terror arrests

MILAN, Italy (AP) — Police in Milan on Thursday arrested a group of people who allegedly provided logistical and financial support to the al-Qaeda-linked Salafist Group for Call and Combat, Italian officials said.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. David Vitter, R-Louisiana, apologized Monday night for "a very serious sin in my past" after his telephone number appeared among those associated with an escort service operated by the so-called "D.C. Madam."

Gunman shoots 3 in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — A gunman shot and injured three people, possibly killing one, during a rush hour rampage Monday in downtown Melbourne, police and media reports said.
